Acceptance

By using Blurveil ("the service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What Blurveil is

Blurveil is a free set of browser-based tools for hiding sensitive content in your own photos and videos — blurring faces, license plates and text, pixelating, censoring, and removing photo metadata. The tools run entirely in your browser; we do not receive or store the files you process.

Acceptable use

You may use Blurveil only for lawful purposes — primarily to protect privacy when you share images and videos.

You agree not to use Blurveil to:

• Facilitate, conceal, or carry out any illegal activity.
• Evade law enforcement, traffic enforcement, toll systems, or any lawful identification — for example, by obscuring a plate to avoid accountability rather than to protect privacy when sharing.
• Process content you have no right to use, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Create material that is defamatory, harassing, or otherwise unlawful.

You are responsible for the content you process and for how you use the results.

Your content

You keep all rights to the files you open in Blurveil. Because they never leave your device, we make no claim to them and acquire no rights over them.

Verify your results

Redaction is a tool, not a guarantee. Always review the output before sharing anything sensitive. Note that a solid black box permanently replaces the covered pixels, while a blur or pixelation hides content visually but may, in some cases, be partially reconstructed. For truly sensitive information, prefer a solid block and confirm nothing was missed. We are not responsible for content that remains visible because an area was not covered or an effect was too weak.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including any incomplete redaction or any consequence of sharing a processed file.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
