What Blurveil is

Blurveil is a free toolkit for hiding the things you did not mean to share. Blur or pixelate faces, license plates, and text; censor any region of an image; and strip the hidden GPS and camera metadata from your photos.

The idea is simple: blur it before you share it.

Privacy is the whole point

Every Blurveil tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your photos and videos are opened, processed, and saved on your own device — they are never uploaded. We cannot see them, we do not store them, and there is nothing for anyone to leak. Even the optional face auto-detection runs locally; only the detection model is downloaded to your device, never your image.

That is not a limitation we work around — it is the design. It also means the tools are free to use, with no account required.

Who it is for

• Selling a car or a home and posting photos — hide plates, faces, and house numbers first.
• Sharing screenshots, receipts, or chat logs — black out names, addresses, and account numbers.
• Posting dashcam or street footage — cover plates and bystanders.
• Anyone who wants to remove the hidden location data baked into a photo before posting it.

How we keep it free

Blurveil is supported by unobtrusive advertising and may add an optional Pro tier later for heavy video processing. The core tools — image redaction and metadata removal — are free and unlimited. None of this involves your files.
